STORMS Rain Storms - Hail Storms - Snow
Storms Every so often DOUBT STORMS roll on into
our lives bringing with it a flurry of questions
and gale-force winds of fear How can we be sure
there is an unseen God who hears? We ask, why
do so many people have to hurt so bad?
6
LIFE WAS GOOD THEN IT
GOT BAD
He was 75 years old, retired, wealthy and
enjoying his life in Canaan

He had a beautiful wife named Sarai but she was
old without children You know the story (Genesis
121-3) Pack it
up and leave, take your family with you
Where Lord? Dont worry I will tell you
when you get thereok Lord!
7
LIFE WAS GOOD THEN IT
GOT BAD
Then on the way to where he didnt know he was
going was a place called Egypt Here came that
DOUBT STORM rolling into his lifetell them you
are my sister, you are beautiful and if they
know you are my wife they will kill me so they
can have you (Genesis 129-20)
8
LIFE WAS GOOD THEN IT
GOT BAD
While on the way to where he didnt know he was
going some of his family had been taken captive
and he had to go rescue them (Genesis
141-17) Then the decision was made by God to
destroy Sodom Gomorrah Abraham went to bat for
the city where is nephew Lot and family lived
and for any others there who would be good
people (Genesis 181-33)
9
LIFE WAS GOOD THEN IT
GOT BAD
While on the way to where he didnt know he was
going a real big DOUBT STORM hit home for he
was thinking age is against him in having a son
to carry on his seed and Gods promise of a son
would fall by the wayside At 86 years old he
decided to help God make this happen and he did,
Ishmael is born to Sarias slave girl (Genesis
161-16 171-10)
10
LIFE WAS GOOD THEN IT
GOT BAD
While on the way to where he didnt know he was
going the Lord appears to 99 year old Abraham
and tells him he is going to have the son
promised (Genesis 171-27) At the age of 100
years old Isaac is born to Abraham Sarah
(Genesis 215) At the age of 175 years old
Abraham dies (Genesis 2517)
11
LIFE WAS GOOD THEN IT
GOT BAD THEN IT GOT REAL GOOD!
Abraham traveled for 100 years and then when he
got to where God was showing him to go he died
and it was then when life GOT REAL GOOD!
Hebrews 1115-16 15 If they had been thinking
of the country they had left, they would have had
opportunity to return. 16 Instead, they were
longing for a better country--a heavenly one.
12
NOW ITs TIME FOR THE BIGGEST STORM to ROLL IN!
Abraham was just like uswe have our good moments
when our faith is unshakable and then there are
the times when our faith needs testing and we
dont do all that wellour doubts turn in to
fears and we flip-flop! Gods exams are designed
to show us the strength of our own faith and
between tests He gives moments of pleasure and
relief while we are going where he is going to
show us
13
NOW ITs TIME FOR THE BIGGEST STORM to ROLL IN!
Where is all this storm stuff getting me? This
is far from the retirement I had in mind and was
enjoying What more am I going to have to do for
God? Will He ever be satisfied? I think I
have had enough of this stuff!

  • Genesis 221-18
  • 1 Some time later God tested Abraham. He said to
him, "Abraham!" "Here I am," he replied.
  • Then God said, "Take your son, your only son,
Isaac, whom you love, and go to the region of
Moriah. Sacrifice him there as a burnt offering
on one of the mountains I will tell you about.
  • 3 Early the next morning Abraham got up and
saddled his donkey. He took with him two of his
servants and his son Isaac. When he had cut
enough wood for the burnt offering, he set out
for the place God had told him about.
  • 4 On the third day Abraham looked up and saw the
    place in the distance.

16
  • 5 He said to his servants, "Stay here with the
donkey while I and the boy go over there. We will
worship and then we will come back to you."
  • 6 Abraham took the wood for the burnt offering
and placed it on his son Isaac, and he himself
carried the fire and the knife. As the two of
    them went on together,
  • Isaac spoke up and said to his father Abraham,
"Father?" "Yes, my son?" Abraham replied. "The
fire and wood are here," Isaac said, "but where
is the lamb for the burnt offering?
  • Abraham answered, "God himself will provide the
lamb for the burnt offering, my son." And the two
    of them went on together.

17
9 When they reached the place God had told him
about, Abraham built an altar there and arranged
the wood on it. He bound his son Isaac and laid
him on the altar, on top of the wood. 10 Then he
reached out his hand and took the knife to slay
his son. 11 But the angel of the LORD called out
to him from heaven, "Abraham! Abraham!" "Here I
am," he replied. 12 "Do not lay a hand on the
boy," he said. "Do not do anything to him. Now I
know that you fear God, because you have not
withheld from me your son, your only son."
18
  • Abraham looked up and there in a thicket he saw a
ram caught by its horns. He went over and took
the ram and sacrificed it as a burnt offering
instead of his son. 14 So Abraham called that
place The LORD Will Provide. And to this day it
is said, "On the mountain of the LORD it will be
    provided.

IN BETWEEN STUFF
From the point of leaving to the point of getting
is the IN BETWEEN STUFF The In between Stuff
are the periods of testing and the times in
between times of pleasure and relief God has
said to you, Pack it up and go where I will show
you and when you get there I will let you know
and you will die.
26
  • Revelation 211-7
  • 1 Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for
the first heaven and the first earth had passed
away, and there was no longer any sea.
  • I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming
down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride
    beautifully dressed for her husband.
  • 3 And I heard a loud voice from the throne
saying, "Now the dwelling of God is with men, and
he will live with them. They will be his people,
and God himself will be with them and be their
    God.

27
4 He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There
will be no more death or mourning or crying or
pain, for the old order of things has passed
away." 5 He who was seated on the throne said,
"I am making everything new!" Then he said,
"Write this down, for these words are trustworthy
and true." 6 He said to me "It is done. I am
the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the
End. To him who is thirsty I will give to drink
without cost from the spring of the water of
life. 7 He who overcomes will inherit all this,
and I will be his God and he will be my son.
