Title: The Decision Making Process ( P. 1 ) Decisions are made by
1 Voyager Micro Controls
2 The Decision Making Process ( P. 1 )
- Decisions are made by the UCP, not the device on
the wall. - 9x 9 board, same location in all units.
- DDC control, better space temp. control.
- Jam packed with features benefits.
3Increased Reliability
- Fewer Components and moving electromechanical
parts. - Less likelihood of equipment down time or
failure. - Standard on Voyager Microcontrol units.
4Direct Digital Control Proportional Integral (
P. 1 )
- P is corrective action proportional to the
setpoint deviation. - I is an integral fine tuning loop, rate of
correction is proportional to error. - Eliminates steady state error, providing superior
comfort.
Set Point
5Built-In TEST Mode ( P. 36 )
- Tests UCP outputs
- Initiated by applying a short across TEST
terminals on unit LTB for 2 - 3 seconds and then
removing. - The LED on the UCP will blink, indicating the
unit is in the TEST mode.
TEST Terminals
6On Board Diagnostics
- Outputs provide operation status and problem
diagnostic information. - Information is available at the rooftop unit, or
in the zone (when using a Zone Sensor with remote
panel capabilities). - Standard on Voyager Microcontrol units.
7Low Ambient Start Timer (LAST)
- Bypasses low pressure switch when a compressor
starts. - Eliminates nuisance compressor lockouts under low
ambient conditions. - Standard on Voyager Microcontrol units.
8Anti Short Cycle Timer (ASCT)
- No longer a field installed accessory.
- Enhances compressor reliability.
- Ensures proper oil return.
- Provides a 3 minute minimum ON time and a 3
minute minimum OFF time. - Standard on Voyager Microcontrol units.
9Time Delay Relay (TDR)
- No longer a field installed accessory.
- Provides an incremental delay between compressor
stages, keeps compressors from starting
simultaneously. - Minimizes equipment current inrush.
- Standard on Voyager Microcontrol units.
10Fan Delay Relay (FDR)
- Enhances equipment efficiency and reliability.
- Provides custom fan timing sequences for the
different kinds of equipment. - Standard on Voyager Microcontrol units.
11Evaporator Defrost Control
- Allows low ambient cooling to 0 F.
- Compressor(s) are forced OFF for the 3 minute
minimum OFF time after each 10 minutes of
accumulated compressor run time (indoor fan
continues to run). - Standard on Voyager Microcontrol units.
12Integral Electric Heat Staging
- Stages electric heat ON and OFF.
- Eliminates the use of outdated sequencers.
- Improves reliability.
- Standard on Voyager Microcontrol units.
13Intelligent Fallback
- Built in default control provides adaptive
operation. - Allows the equipment to operate in the event of
certain component failure. - Emergency operation without a sensor.
- Standard on Voyager Microcontrol units.
14Emergency Stop Terminals
- The Low Voltage Terminal Board (LTB) LTB-16 and
LTB-17. - Provides a convenient point to disable the
equipment completely, and immediately. - Standard on Voyager Microcontrol units.
15Easy Sensor Installation
- When using a Zone Sensor, control wiring may be
run 5 times further than conventional
electromechanical units, vitrually any wiring
will do - 1 to 1, 2 to 2, 3 to 3 terminals
- Standard on Voyager Microcontrol units.
- Broad offering of sensors
16Alternating Lead / Lag
- Equalizes compressor wear run time on dual
compressor models. - During part load operation compressors cycle
alternately as circuit number one. - To enable, cut the wire at UCP J1-7.
- Standard on Voyager Microcontrol units.
17Demand Defrost (3-7.5 ton) WCs
- Optimizes and lowers operating costs.
- Defrosts only if needed, not based on time like
most other systems. - Soft start (switchover valve delay)
- Smart recovery (.1 deg / min)
- Standard on Voyager Microcontrols units.
18Remote Sensing
- All standard Zone Sensor Modules have this
capability. - Usually achieved using an expensive programmable
thermostat and remote sensor on
electro-mechanical equipment. - Accessory (requires use of remote sensor).
19Space Temperature Averaging
- All standard Zone Sensor Modules, with the
exception of BAYSENS022A, have this capability. - Usually achieved using an expensive programmable
thermostat and 4 remote sensors on
electro-mechanical equipment. - Accessory (requires use of 4 remote sensors).
20Supply Air Tempering
- When in Heat mode and not actively heating, keeps
discharge air temp within /- 10 F. of active
heating set point. - Extremely effective when introducing any quantity
of outside air. - Requires use of an ICS device, digital or
programmable Zone Sensor, and economizer
accessory.
21Night Set Back Unoccupied
- Sets cooling set point up 7 F., sets heating set
point back 7 F., forces damper minimum position
to zero, and fan operation to automatic. - Enabled by using a dual set point / auto change
over Zone Sensor, and applying a short across
terminals LTB-11 and LTB-12. - Requires timeclock or field supplied switch.
22Built In Unoccupied Mode
- Forces damper minimum position to zero, and fan
operation to automatic. - Enabled by using a single set point / manual
change over Zone Sensor, and applying a short
across terminals LTB-11 and LTB-12. - Requires timeclock or field supplied switch.
23Selectable Economizer Dry Bulb Change Over
- Allows capability of field selecting dry bulb
change over points. - Selectable points are 55, 60 or 65 F.
- Standard with economizer accessory.
- Enthalpy control available
- Comparative enthalpy also available
24Start Up Without A ZSM ( P. 37 )
- Outdoor air sensor can be used temporarily to
provide comfort. - Located in corner post, next to control box.
- Connect to LTB-1 2.
- CSP74, HSP71, auto change over, runs indoor fan
continuous.
25Wiring - ICS Device To TCI ( P. 5 )
- Tracer / Tracker compatible
