1
GE Power Automation System
2
What is GE Power ?
GE Power Automation System is a dedicated system
for automation and control of utility and
industrial substations.
  • Power automation solution
  • Substation level SCADA
  • Human-Machine Interface
  • Communication gateway
  • Open system based on international standards
  • Tool for implementation of customized schemes
  • Embedded IEC 61850 implementation

3
What is GE Power ?
  • Cost effective and complete power automation
    system
  • Distributed and scalable system architecture
  • Connects multiple devices to the substation via
    various physical media and communications
    protocols
  • Connects the whole substation to the Control
    Centre using typical telecontrol protocols.
  • Application that consists of different software
    packages
  • GE CONF System configuration, data
    mapping, HMI configuration

    visualization
  • PLC Logic Editor Automation functions
  • GE Files Trending and analysis of
    historical data
  • Ready to run on embedded hardend platform CCU
    1000 hardware

4
What is CCU 1000 ?
  • CCU 1000 is embedded industrial platform
designed to run GE Power Automation software.
  • CCU 1000 is a station computer with full
    automation functionality.
  • Provides connectivity to protection and control
devices within the plant or substation, includes
monitoring and control and connection to Network
    Control Centers.
  • CCU 1000 is truly harsh environment ready
hardware ideal for severe conditions in
electrical substation or in industrial plants.
  • Outstanding reliability thanks to
  • No mechanical moving parts
  • No rotating hard drives, fans, CD/DVD drives
  • No CMOS battery
  • Redundant AC/DC power supply
  • Tested in harsh environments
  • Write protected OS and applications
  • Static data logging through Flash disk

5

8
Configuration and Data Mapping Application
Configure the substation with the required
relays.
Define the point for Level3 integration.
Information is loaded from models.
Design the screens both with bitmaps and live
objects
9
Single Line Diagram with GE Power
  • Possibility to show status of all motors at a
    glance
  • IEDs are represented with different colors
    depending on their status.
  • Incomers and with measured values
  • Clicking with the mouse on any motor or feeder
results in going to another screen showing all
the details about that motor or feeder.

10
Elevation Panels with GE Power
  • View of the system incomers and bus-couplers in
    their actual locations
  • Detailed information of any of the represented
elements is available with just one mouse click

11
PLC Logic Editor with GE Power
Define simple control sequences in design mode
Debug the control sequences in Run-time
12
View of IEDs with GE Power
  • On-line retrieval of complete information
    about any system component
  • Possibility to search for any IED within the
system by entering its code. View measured
    values, maintenance, commands, memory map,
settings, cause of the last trip, etc.

13
View of Alarms with GE Power
Possibility to view all the system alarms.
The program offers the option to acknowledge the
alarms, and filter them according to the priority
level.
14
Status of Communications with GE Power
Possibility to view communication status of all
the system IEDs identified with colours.

  • The CCU 1000 retrieves data from MMII via MODBUS
RTU, from F650 and UR via MODBUS TCP/IP.
  • The DCS retrieves data from CCU 1000 via
    IEC-870-5-104. Available also IEC-870-5-101 and
MODBUS through direct connection to CCU 1000
    RS-232 ports.
  • The engineering workstations retrieve data from
CCU 1000 using an OPC connection.
