• Largo Central Park is a beautiful, 70-acre park
  located in the heart of Largo. Its rolling
  grounds, fountains and landmark clock tower have
  set it apart as one of the finest parks in the
  county. Rainbow Rotary Playground is one of the
  only playgrounds in the Bay area completely
  accessible to disabled users

• Largo Central Park Nature Preserve is a 31-acre
  nature park virtually surrounded by water. The
  park is home to hundreds of wildlife species for
  viewing. Over 130 species of birds, otters, red
  fox, American alligator, marsh rabbits, wild
  turkey, and bats all feed or live within the
  park. A 5-mile kayak/canoe route begins at the
  park and ends at Park Boulevard. Catch and
  release fishing is allowed at the park. Over 40
  interpretive displays educate visitors on the
  wildlife at the park.

• Largo Golf Course recently completed a total
  course renovation and reopened on April 2nd.The
  Course renovation included the replacement of all
  putting greens, tees, fairways and sandbunkers,
  the installation of a new irrigation system,
  concrete electric cart paths, and the
  construction of a new on-course restroom and two
  new on-course shade shelters. The new greens
  are built to USGA (United States Golf
  Association) standards. The new greens feature
  Tifeagle Ultradwarf Bermuda grass while the new
  fairways and tees feature Tifway (T-419) Bermuda

• The Highland Family Aquatic Center is a family
  water park for all to enjoy. The facility
  includes two pool areas, lots of deck and grass
  space, shade structures, snack bar, family rest
  room facility, and locker rooms.Get soaked in
  the activity pool and spray-ground area and let
  the four play features keep you cool. The Family
  Aquatic Center gives area families a water park
  playground with a wide variety of fun play
  experiences for children of all ages. The
  Highland Family Aquatic Center offers swimming
  lessons, recreational swim sessions, special
  events and private rental opportunities. Depths
  in this pool range from zero to four feet. Come
  play in our newest addition to the Highland
  Family Aquatic Center, a 214ft. corkscrew slide
  and three lane lap pool. For the 2007 season, a
  speed slide will be added to the tower.
  Participants must be four foot tall to utilize
  either of the slides. This pool is geared towards
  older children, teens and adults, offering a
  chance for water volleyball, water basketball and
  an expanded swim lesson program. Depths range
  from 3-1/2 to 4 feet.

The Clearwater Marine Aquarium, Inc

• The Clearwater Marine Aquarium, Inc (CMA) is
  dedicated to public education, research, animal
  assisted therapy and the rescue, rehabilitation,
  and release of sick or injured animals.  CMA is a
  Florida non-profit organization, which has
  tax-exempt status under IRC 501(c)(3).Clearwater
  Marine Aquarium (CMA) is involved with a number
  of marine science research initiatives,
  environmental conservation and public education.
  Programs are available for virtually every age
  group.CMA provides a home for many animals
  rescued and rehabilitated by our stranding
  response team, which is one of the nation's most
  successful.  Although many of these injured or
  sick animals are subsequently released, some have
  become permanent CMA residents due to the extent
  of their injuries or permanent disabilities. 
  Some CMA's resident animals include Atlantic
  bottlenose dolphins, several species of sea
  turtle, and North American river otters.

The Pinellas Trail

• The 34-mile long Pinellas Trail offers county
  residents and visitors a unique opportunity to
  enjoy the outdoors that is close to home, close
  to work and close to where you want to go. Grab
  your in-line skates, put on your jogging shoes or
  hop on your bicycle and head to the Pinellas
  Trail.
• The Trail is only open during daylight hours
• alcoholic beverages are prohibited
• To help everyone enjoy the Trail, there are some
  basic rules
• Pedestrians and handicapped have the right of
  way, wheelchairs should use the pedestrian lanes
  and electric handicap wheelchairs are always
  permitted.
• Bicyclists are required to obey all traffic
  controls and signals.
• Bicyclists are not permitted to wear headphones
  at any time and under age 16, they must wear a
  helmet.
• Electric bicycles are not allowed on the Pinellas
  Trail.
• Bicyclists and skaters should obey the posted
  speed limits. No racing, race training or pace
  lines. Skaters should use the bicycle lanes, and
  both skaters and cyclists should give an audible
  warning when passing.
• Motorized vehicles (except electric handicap
  wheelchairs, maintenance, law enforcement and
  emergency vehicles) are not allowed on the Trail.
  Neither are horses.
• Pets must be kept on a max. 6 foot leash and
  under control. If you have a problem with any
  animal, call Pinellas County Animal Services at
  582-2600.
