  • Current HomeSafenet system cannot be fixed to
    meet federal SACWIS requirements.
  • Necessary to procure systems integrator with
    expertise in SACWIS.
  • Procurement will properly align resources and
    reduce risks.
  • Invitation to Negotiate (ITN) method selected to
    competitively select the best vendor solution.

Stabilizing Current System
  • Capacity upgrade in July 2005 to avoid service
    interruptions.
  • Improved software stability.
  • Changes restricted to critical fixes such as
    search functionality, federal reporting
    requirements, and federal or state statutory
    requirements such as psychotropic medication
    screens.

  • Federal funding is provided for 50 percent of
    full costs.

  • Ongoing work to maintain and operate system.
  • Federal funding is at the administrative rate of
    50 percent of the portion of the cost attributed
    to the title IV-E eligible caseload.

Conclusion
  • Actions taken on the current system are focused
    on maintaining stability and fixing known
    defects, where cost beneficial.
  • Primary focus for FY 2005-06 year will be
    completing system integrator procurement and
    initiating retool of HomeSafenet.
