Application Process
  • Everyone must fill out an application to be
    staffed on a project
  • Applications available on website
    (http//webuser.bus.umich.edu/Organizations/Commun
    ityConsulting/ )
  • Application Fee 10 (to cover cost of training
    binders)
  • Attach resume to application (for background
    purposes only)
  • Rank top the three projects that you want to work
    on
  • Project descriptions available on the website
  • Best effort staffing based on project demand and
    skill requirements
  • Application commitment to work on any CCC
    project
  • Potential team leaders will be interviewed by CCC
    Officers
  • Informal interview to validate leadership
    abilities (not consulting experience)
  • Interviews on September 21 - 23
  • Sign up for interview slots in the CCC display
    case near the Student Lounge
  • Teams will be announced via e-mail on Sunday,
    September 25th.

Project Execution
  • Individual teams determine the scope of the
    project with their organizations
  • Documented in a formal Letter of Engagement
  • Scope should be equivalent to agreed commitment
    level
  • For example, 5 person team should commit to at
    least 200 hours of work
  • Project status will be monitored by VP-Operations
    using deliverable milestones
  • Draft LOE Friday, October 7th
  • Final LOE Friday, October 14th
  • Draft Deliverable Wednesday, November 23rd
  • Final Presentation Practice Week of November
    28th
  • Final Presentation/Deliverable Friday, December
    9th
  • Additional assistance available from
    VP-Operations on an ad-hoc basis
  • Advice on how to complete a deliverable, resolve
    team issues, etc.
  • Schedule meetings with either Gheorghe or Matt
    (office hours)

Membership Requirements and Benefits
Clients expect deliverables consistent with
standard business practices of consulting firms
  • Requirements
  • Four to Eight hours a week
  • Mid-September to mid-December
  • Commitment to team, client, and University
  • Benefits

    community
