The Sun

• The Sun is the star at the center of the Solar

• Mercury has no atmosphere.
• The craters were formed 3.7 or 4.5 billion years
  ago.
• It consists of hills ridges and grooves.
• A series of cliffs are 100s of miles long.
• Mercurys diameter is around 800 miles long.

Venus

• Its 4.5 billion years old.
• It has no moons.
• Its atmosphere is mostly carbon.
• Its diameter is 12100 km.
• Its temperature is 840 degrees.

Earth

• The third planet from the Sun.
• Only planet that contains of life.
• Atoms bound together exists in the layer of
  Earths atmosphere.
• Its a inner planet.
• It has oxygen.

Mars

• Has a thin atmosphere.
• The fourth planet from the Sun.
• Its half the size of Earth.
• Its a inner planet.
• Its called the Red Planet.

Jupiter

• 82 hydrogen
• The 5th planet from the Sun.
• 18 helium and traces of nearly all other
  elements.
• Is similar to the Sun with the dominant elements
  of hydrogen and helium
• Has no surface to speak of.

Saturn

• 94 hydrogen and 6 helium.
• The 6th planet from the Sun.
• Outer planet
• Has a ring system.
• 27 degrees.

Uranus

• The 7th planet.
• Outer planet.
• It has a cold atmosphere.
• Has a turquoise appearance.
• 82.5 hydrogen 15.2 helium and 2.3 methane.

Neptune

• Mostly contains hydrogen and helium with trace
  amounts of methane water ammonia and other
  ices.
• Outer planet.
• 8th planet from the Sun.
• The color is brighter than Uranus.
• Neptune has a large proportion of the ices.

• Dwarf planet.
• This enveloping of gases.
• Clouds of nitrogen surround Pluto.
• Outer planet.
• 9th planet from the Sun

Asteroids

• No atmosphere.
• The mass is less than that of the Moon.
• By the end of the 19th century there were several
  hundred of them.
• 26 known larger than 200 km.
• Asteroids are a class of small Solar System
  bodies in orbit around the Sun.

Meteors

• No atmosphere
• The visible path of a meteoroid that enters
  Earths atmosphere its called a meteor or a
  shooting star or falling star.
• A meteor is the visible path of a meteoroid that
  has entered the Earths atmosphere.
• Meteors become visible between about 40 and 75
  miles above the Earth.
• A fireball is a brighter-than-usual meteor

Comets

• No atmosphere.
• Mainly rocky particles and ice
• When their orbits approach the Sun they vaporize
  and form tails.
• Almost all are located in the Kuiper Belt and the
  Oort Cloud.
• A comet is an icy small Solar System body that
  when close enough to the Sun displays a visible
  coma (a thin fuzzy temporary atmosphere) and
  sometimes also a tail.
