Revolution is the Earths yearlong elliptical
orbit around the Sun. This takes 365 days. This
is what causes seasons.

Rotation is the spinning of Earth on its
imaginary axis, which takes about 24 hours to
complete and this is what causes night and day.

Axis

• Axis is the imaginary vertical line that cuts
  through the center of the Earth and around which
  Earth spins. The axis is 23.5 degrees.

• The shape of Earths orbit is called an ellipse.
