Abstract of Presentation
  • This presentation will focus on current
high-performance computing (HPC) barriers in U.S.
industry and several approaches to improve the
    situation and resultant U.S. industrial
competitiveness. The following topics will be
included U.S. Council on Competitiveness studies
of U.S. globalization reasons for lagging behind
    government research labs/academic research
groups reducing the time gap between product
conception and production via use of HPC tools
    arising opportunities for cooperative and
innovative efforts with government labs and
universities and a collection of internet
    references documenting U.S. industry successes
and failures as well as challenges to
    significantly improve effective product
    globalization.
