The Plans

• The First 24 Hours
• For the first half of my project, I worked at
  Jefferson Elementary Schools remedial summer
  program.

• The Last 36 Hours
• For the last half of my project, I worked with a
  3rd Grade teacher at Lumpkin County Elementary
  School.

The Remedial Program

• Gail Elrod was in charge of the program.
• The Program was for students who were slightly
  below grade level at the end of the 2001-2002
  school year.
• There were many participants from all grades.

What I did

• I worked wherever I was needed.
• I spent most of the time in 2nd grade just
  monitoring the kids and assisting the teachers.
• I worked with the group of Kindergarteners and
  was in charge of one of the centers.

Ms. Grants 3rd Grade Class

• There are 19 Children in Ms. Grants class.
• 4 of the children go to other classes during the
  day.
• Ms. Grant is my cooperating teacher for block. I
  stayed all day to fulfill my block and service
  learning requirements.

What I Did

• I stayed to help Ms. Grant from 1130 until
  parent pick up and buses.
• I ran errands throughout the school, I worked
  with the students, I monitored the children while
  they worked, and I did whatever Ms. Grant asked
  me to do.

What I got from this Experience

• I got a chance to put my name and face in schools
  in my home county.
• I got a chance to work with students of all ages.
• I got a chance to work with students who needed
  extra help.
• I realized that I like 3rd grade best.
