• Cathepsin G is one of 5 enzymes which converts
  ANG I to ANG II in the renin-angiotensin-aldostero
  ne system
• Studied whether any of the neuropeptides would
  inhibit or stimulate cathepsin G activity.
• Stimulation or inhibition of cathepsin G activity
  may have implications in hypertension or
  hypotension.

  have implications clinically when addressing
  blood coagulation.

Effect of Lisinopril/acetaldehyde mixture and
Captopril/acetaldehyde mixture upon Prothrombin
time

• Lisinopril and Captopril are ACE inhibitors used
  commercially to treat hypertension.
• Acetaldehyde is the primary metabolic
  intermediate in the metabolism of ethanol in the
  body
• Studied whether Lisinopril/acetaldehyde and
  Captopril/acetaldehyde mixtures would stimulate
  or prolong prothrombin time thereby possibly
  altering the effect these two drugs have in the
  body if in the presence of acetaldehyde
