It was a happy day in our quiet neighborhood.

A little boy named Robert was so excited because
today he was going to get his first pet.

The pet shop was filled with puppies and kittens
and all kinds of cute animals.

But suddenly all the happiness went away when the
pet shop caught on fire.

All the animals were really scared. The flames
were getting so close.

The little puppies were barking so loud. Was
there anyone who could save them?

A man was walking down the street. All of a
sudden he heard the puppies cries for help.

The man asked a neighbor to call the fire
department so they could save the animals.

The fire engine raced down the street to the pet
shop.

The fireman broke through the burning door to get
to the helpless animals.

First they carried all the animals to a safe
place. Then they sprayed water on the pet shop
to put out the fire.

Everyone in the neighborhood felt so happy when
the fire fighters finally put out the fire.
Luckily none of the animals were burned or hurt.
Other pet shops took care of the animals until
they found new homes.

Robert begged his dad to please let him adopt a
cute little rabbit. Robert found his new rabbit,
Bugs Bunny, at one of the pet shops that was
taking care of the frightened animals.

Robert couldnt wait to get home everyday after
school so he could play with his new best friend.
Robert loved to play hide and seek with Bugs
Bunny in the backyard.

Robert was so glad that the firemen saved Bugs
Bunny and all the other animals.
