  • Elucidate the air-sea interaction and subsurface
    oceanic variability associated with major climate
    phenomena in the eastern tropical Indian Ocean
    such as the Intraseasonal disturbances, the
    Wyrtki jets, the monsoonal variability, and the
    Indian Ocean Dipole Mode.
  • Contribute as part of the CLIVAR/GOOS basin-wide
    Indian ocean mooring array, from which data will
    be utilized in climate prediction models for
    better prediction skill.
