Wildlife
  • Yellowstone is home to a large variety of
    wildlife. The elk is the most abundant of game
    animals in Yellowstone. Although the bison
    reached near extinction due to poaching, they
    have made a strong comeback in the Yellowstone
    region.

Geysers
  • Geysers are another amazing feature that is found
    at Yellowstone National Park. The most famous of
    these geysers is Old Faithful, and it erupts
    approximately every half an hour.

Hiking
  • The Yellowstone area encompasses 2.2 million
    acres and has several different levels as well as
    lengths of hikes throughout the park. One of the
    most enjoyable hikes at Yellowstone is the Lost
    Lake Trail.

Fires of 88
  • During the summer of 1988, many of Yellowstones
    pristine acres were burned by 7 large forest
    fires. Despite many efforts to save the area,
    the only force strong enough to stop the inferno
    was winter.

Geology
  • Yellowstone is situation on top of an active
    volcano which creates the many geysers and hot
    springs throughout the park. The largest
    waterfall in the world is also found within the
    boundaries of Yellowstone.
