• Recently, studies have shown that the fish
  populations in the local lake are declining.
  What are some possible factors that could be
  contributing to the declining fish population?

• Some reasons for the decline in the fish
  population could be
• Pollution,
• Decrease in predators,
• Increase in human development of the area,
• Overpopulation,
• Change in weather, and
• Loss of habitat.

Food Chains

• Draw a 4 level food chain that could be found in
  a lake environment or a pond. Write the names of
  each plant or organism. Give a reason for the
  order of your food chain.

• Imagine your class is on a field trip to a
  nearby forest. You look around and see many
  trees, plants and animals that live in the
  forest. At first it seems very quiet, but then
  you notice a flurry of activities around you.

• A chipmunk is busy storing nuts and seeds in
  their underground homes. Explain why they are
  doing this.

- The chipmunk is using the seeds and nuts for
food. -The chipmunk is storing the food for the
winter.
