  • An employee-managed organization since 1956.
  • Completely staffed by volunteers.
  • Contributions to CECO are distributed to local
    non-profit agencies in the name of County
    employees.
  • Part of the money raised by CECO is allocated to
    the Employees Crisis Fund.

  • Application Criteria for Non-Profit Organizations
  • Proof of non-profit status (IRS and California
    Franchise Tax Board forms)
  • Grant monies must remain in San Diego to assist
    in local health, human care and social services.
  • Grant monies cannot be used to fund staff
    positions.
  • CECO inquiries must be responded to within 48
    hours.
  • Application must be complete and include all
    necessary attachments.
  • CECO Funding Process
  • Grant applications are submitted to CECO.
  • Applications are reviewed by the CECO Allocation
    Committee.
  • CECO Board meets to vote on the Allocation
    Committee's recommendations.
  • Grants are awarded as part of an annual breakfast
    each year.

Employee Crisis Fund
  • What is the Employee Crisis Fund?
  • A way for employees to help fellow employees. The
    Crisis Fund assists employees and retirees
    experiencing a one-time financial crisis.
  • Part of the money raised by CECO is allocated to
    a special fund so that employees and retirees of
    County of San Diego and Superior Court have a
    place to turn to when they need help.
  • The decision to grant funds is based on the
    following the applicants eligibility, the
    applicants need, and the circumstances
    underlying the lack of resources.
