Turtles Tortoises
  • Hard shell on top and bottom
  • Withdraw into shell for protection
  • No teeth use beaks to feed on insects, worms,
    fish, and plants

    longer, webbed feet, and a less domed shell
  • Tortoise live on land, have stumpy legs, high

  • Live on a few islands near New Zealand
  • Up to 60cm long
  • Look like lizards
  • No visible ears
  • Most active in low temperatures
  • Rest during the day and hunt at night
