Collaboration
  • I research curriculum standards and save them in
a folder on desktops entitled Smart Stuff. This
folder is accessible to all teachers, enabling
them to pull helpful websites and information to
aide them in lesson planning and collaboration.
  • 1.  movie websites where you can get free movies
to show about Revolutionary War events and
    people. Example (http//www.earlyamerica.com/be
    n1.htm
  • http//www.earlyamerica.com/ben2.htm)

    (http//www.earlyamerica.com/portraits/)
  • 3.  Music of Early Americans website

Color-coded AR booksWe labeled the spines of
books with colored coded dots to identify the AR
level for students and teachers. It makes it
easier to locate and to shelve books.

How to Use Renaissance PlaceI made power points
to help teachers use the new web-based
Renaissance Place that was purchased.
12
80 of the software budget was spent on websites
for teachers to use in planning and new
Renaissance Place.
  • I researched and purchased these Websites for
Teachers based on Georgia Performance Standards
    and Current Curriculum Guides.
  • September 2, 2008
  • Teachers,
  • Brain Pop is ready for use.

Safari Themed Bulletin BoardsOur school theme
this year is Were on a Safari for Knowledge.
Therefore, the bulletin boards repeat that theme.
I also have a variety of animals lying around
the media center for the students to hold while
playing or reading.

The End
  • However, there is never an end to things that can
be revamped, revised, and revisited in the media
center. This is a quick overview of some of the
goals and objectives that have been completed so
far this year. There is always another project
to do when one is completed. I love being in the
    media center-making it kid-friendly,
teacher-friendly, and work-friendly for all of
    MCES.
