Summary
  • In 1865 the government set up a organization to
help freed slaves. This organization was called
    freedman's bureau.Freedmans bureau gave africans
a chance to learn how to read ,write, and many
other things. With this Africans got schools,
churches, and homes to live in. With Freedmen's
Bureau over 4,300 schools were built and over one
million teachers were hired. These schools were
called the Abandoned Lands. This impacted
Africans in a positive way. Africans were so
happy this happened. Without this organization
Africans would still be slaves. Now Africans
could be responsible for their self's. With this
also it helped white farmers rebuild their farms
    after the war.
