063 TOOTH DECAY
This is an exercise with reference to health and
hygiene. To make children realise tooth decay
starts with improper dental care.
MATERIALS REQUIRED
Two chalk pieces and sugar solution

Chalk piece
Chalk piece wet with sugar syrup
Dip a piece of chalk in sugar solution while
the other piece keep as such.

Keep both the chalk pieces one dipped in sugar
solution and the other not dipped on a piece of
paper near an open window. Now keep watching
periodically.

Notice ants soon gathering near the chalk piece
with the sugar solution and taking bits of it
away with them.

You can then notice cavities in the chalk which
had the sugar solution. In the same way if you do
not maintain oral health and do not brush your
teeth after eating especially sweets cavities
get formed.
