commonly seen, as students and other groups try
to make campus a safe environment for all.

1994 Reports of racist acts on campus are openly
discussed in forums. Discourse about university
actions in response to racism on campus was
needed.

Hawaiian student leaves after alleged racism
University administrator Charles Martinez's trip
to Hawaii will include addressing concerns about
student support services A Hawaiian freshman
who lived in the residence halls left during his
first week at the University because of alleged
racial harassment and death threats, prompting a
University administrator to devote part of a
future trip to Hawaii to addressing concerns

The Purpose
  • The Asian Pacific Islander Americans for Higher
    EDucation (AHED) was established in 2006 as a
    coalition among the Asian Pacific American
    Student Union, Kultura Pilipinas, Hawaii Club and
    Vietnamese Student Association. AHED was created
    to address the unique needs of diverse
    environments within the Asian Pacific Islander
    American (APIA) communities.
