TEACHing Communities provide a unique teacher
education program whose primary goals are to help
lateral entry teachers become highly effective
teachers and to integrate these new teachers into
their communities. By embedding new teachers into
their community, we improve teacher retention by
creating an atmosphere of support and
cooperation. Each of our four host sites
(Raleigh, Rocky Mount, Sanford, and Fayetteville)
are chiefly implemented by local public school
