  • THE MEANING OF SYMBOLS RITUALS
  • A Sacrifice. The sacrifice was a substitute for
our punishment for sins. Christ forgave us and
    paid the penalty for sin.
  • The Exodus. Leave slavery to sin and go to the
Promised Land. Ultimately, we will leave the land
    of death and live forever.
  • A Cleansing. The cleansing removes sin. Christ
permanently removes sin and ensures that sin will
not rise again by writing His law in our hearts.
The Holy Spirit also lives in us and cleanses our
hearts and creates the new person who is born
    again from above.
  • A Meal. The meal gives life. Christ gives us
eternal life as a reward. We share in His
    resurrection and new life.
  • A Light. The light is the power and glory of God
to recreate us by removing our sin and guilt and
restoring life to us. Christ was God and only God
could provide for our forgiveness, cleansing and
new life. The Word of God is also our light.
Then the Bible is another light that speaks the
truth about what God is doing for us.
