WHAT is the ACT?

• ACT stands for American College Testing.
• It is a national college entrance exam covering
  four the for areas of English, Math, Reading, and
  Science.
• There are a total of 215 questions that take
  about 3 hours and 30 minutes to complete with a
  short 10 minute break.

WHY take the ACT?

• Most colleges will use your test scores to award
  you scholarship money.
• ALL colleges and universities also use your
  scores to place you in your freshman college
  courses.
• For example, you need to score a 22 or higher in
  the math section of the ACT to not be enrolled in
  a remedial math course. (Remedial college
  courses must be paid for like a regular course
  BUT you dont get credit for it on your
  transcript.)

WHEN do I take the ACT?

• For scholarship purposes, you can take the ACT
  anytime but we recommend the spring of your
  junior year and then up until December of your
  senior year.
• You can still take the ACT past December of your
  senior year but your scores will not be reflected
  with scholarship money. It can prevent you from
  taking a remedial course if your scores go up in
  the spring of your senior year.

HOW do I register for the ACT?

• Register online at www.act.org
• You will need to create an ACT registration
  account.
• Lets get on the computers now and register for
  the next test on October 23, 2010.

  applying to and find out if they want you to take
