Coconino High and Radisson Woodlands Partnership

• Through the Flagstaff Chamber of Commerce my
  Culinary Arts classes,  at Coconino High School,
  were partner with the Radisson Woodlands Hotel in
  a program known as Skills for Success. Our
  partnership began on November the 6th with a
  visit to the classroom by General Manager, Mr.
  Javier Solis Assistant General Manager, Mr.
  Scott Thomson Human Resource Manager, Ms. Trina
  Carpenter and Executive Chef, Mr. Reg Clemente.
• Each took a few minutes to describe how they had
  arrived at their jobs, what their duties were in
  those positions, what they looked for in
  employees and finished with a presentation on
  several Pillars of Character, which the Skills
  for Success program is based on.
• Next, the classes were invited to travel to the
  Radisson for a behind the scenes look at the
  workings of a hotel and its restaurants.
  Students were divided into four groups and guided
  through each of the departments. In the kitchen
  students were treated to the opportunity to make
  their own pizza for lunch. This was over seen by
  none other than the Executive Chef, Mr. Reg
  Clemente.
• Our visit concluded with lunch in one of the
  banquet rooms and a presentation on the remaining
  Pillars of Character.
• Both activities were a great success and positive
  experiences for all involved.
