Serving Rules
  • - Play is started by an underhand serve
  • A side can only score when serving.
  • Each time a rally is won while serving, neither
    side is awarded a point and the other team is
    awarded the serve.
  • - If a player attempting the serve misses the
    shuttle cock completely, he she may re-serve.

Serving Rules
  • In double, when their score is an even number
    partners should be in the courts in which they
    began the game. When the teams score is an odd
    number they reverse their courts.
  • The player or team that wins a game always serves
    first in the next game.

Rules

Sets
  • A game consists of 15 points.
  • Setting is a method of extending the length of
    a game if the game is tied at a particular score
    EXAMPLE
  • Score set at Points required to win
  • 13-13 5 points
  • 14-14 3 points
  • The side which reached the tied score first has
    the option of setting or not setting the score.
    If the side selects not to set the score then the
    regular number of points completes the game.

FAULTS
  • A serve must be underhand
  • A players feet must be stationary and in their
    correct court upon delivery of a serve.
  • A serve that lands outside the boundaries of the
    service court is a fault.
  • The receivers partner may not strike a serve
    meant for his/her partner.
  • A player may not reach over the net to contact a
    shuttle. He/she may contact the shuttle on
    his/her side of the net and follow through the
    racket on the other side, As long as the net is
    not touched.
