  • NOTE ANSWER ALL QUESTIONS ON HANDBOOK p. 28
  • Preview the text to consider preliminary
    questions What does the title tell you? What
    information can you find about the author and
    his/her purpose, credentials, possible biases?
    (Etc.)
  • Read and annotate the text What key ideas and
    terms do you identify? With which statements do
    you agree or disagree? Does the text cite any
    sources (and if so, which ones)? (Etc.)
  • Briefly summarize the material, noting ideas and
    questions.
  • Analyze the text What are the main points? Do
    they match your expectations? What evidence does
    the text provide , how are examples used, and
    what other evidence/examples occur to you? Are
    the sources trustworthy? (Etc.)
  • Reread the text and check your understanding
    (note the expanded list of evaluation questions
    is in your Handbook, p. 28).
  • This assignment is due Wednesday, 06/03/09.
