Why the Architecture Team

• Pegasus is a group project, communication is
  important
• Tools for communication
• CVS, EMAIL, Documents, informal conversations,
  Architecture Team, Steering Committee, Workshops

Goals of Architecture Team

• Common point for approval of changes to Pegasus
  Primarily through PEPs
• Common point for discussion of new work
  Primarily through PEPs
• Open Discussion, Open Decisions.

Architecture Team is open to everybody
irrespective of Membership in Open Group, etc.

How to Work with Architecture Team

• Review work going on.
• Agendas for discussions
• Minutes of Telecons
• Participate via email in discussion of subjects
  important to you.
• Participate in Telecons, either for education or
  to bring requests
• We want written information because it reduces
  confusion.
• Create a PEP or put an item on the agenda.
• Show up at the call for the discussion
• Create PEPs defining changes, new functionality
  requirements or proposed new functionality
  solutions.

Architecture Team work

• Meetings are just formal enough that we have
  records.
• Much of work can be viewed through the flow of
  PEPs
• Typical agenda
• Approval of previous minutes
• Review of ballots open on PEPs reviewed
• Discussion of current items (PEPs)
• Discussion of any new PEPs
• Special business on the agenda

Meetings by Telecon on formal schedule Tuesday,
Friday 1300 est, 1 hour

The Architecture Team

• Sets Architecture strategy and direction
• Reviews and approves all enhancement requests
  (PEPs)
• Works largely through documented change
  definitions
• Combination of online review and Telecons.
• Regular weekly Telecons (biweekly right now)
• See Pegasus Web site for times/agenda.
• OPEN to anybody
