The Water Cycle
  • By Jen Szarkowski

2
Water Cycle Information
  • Evaporation when the sun heats up water in
lakes, rivers, and oceans and turns it into steam
    or vapor.
  • Condensation when water vapor gets cold and
changes into a liquid, which forms clouds.
  • Precipitation when too much water has condensed
and clouds cannot hold it anymore so it rains,
    snows, sleets, or hails.
  • Accumulation when the precipitation that has
fallen either soaks into the ground, or collects
    in lakes, rivers, and oceans.

3
The Water Cycle
  • First Stage Evaporation (water goes up as
    vapor)
  • Second Stage Condensation (water turns into
    clouds)
  • Third Stage Precipitation (water comes back
down as rain, snow, sleet, or hail)
  • Fourth Stage Accumulation (water collects on
    the ground)
  • Then it starts all over again!!!
