  • Descriptive
  • Perspective
  • Directive

descriptive
  • Describes where situations occur, who is
    involved, what they are doing and why
  • Sometimes a person says, I changed my mind.

perspective
  • Describes the reactions and feelings of others in
    a given situation
  • This means they had one idea, but now they have a
    new idea.

directive
  • Tells a student what is expected as a response to
    a given cue or situation- POSITIVELY stated!
  • I will work on staying calm when someone changes
    their mind.

control
  • Identify strategies the student will use to
    recall the information in a story (usually
    written by the student)
  • When someone says, I changed my mind, I can
    think of someone writing something down,
    scratching it out, and writing something new.

Implementing the Story
  • When introducing for the first time- quiet place
    with minimal distractions
  • Focus should be on the story
  • Daily until it is part of students routine
