(2006-2007) and 5y (2006-2010) time frame by the
Infrastructure Working Group
How to use the IGOS Geohazards Theme Report in
relation to the work required to each Working
Group?
5OBJECTIVES
- Harmonise IGOS objective settings with the
GMES/GEOSS targets related to geohazards. - Produce inventories of existing databases /
networks / systems and establish priority
criteria for accessibility improvement /
enlargement / harmonisation.(What about their
lifetime? Are they sustainable?) - Establish a word-wide volcanic unrest database
(should start from the WOVODAT database)
supporting the assessment and guidance during
emergencies. - Develop regional databases of critical structures
(vulnerability of our societies) for use by civil
protection officials in developing countries
during emergencies.
6OBJECTIVES
- Establish an effective real time transmission of
earthquake loss estimates from international
experts to civil protection officials in
developing countries. - Put in place an homogenous access to world-wide
monitoring seismic networks (starting on EUROMED
countries). - Study the various options for an efficient
distribution of alert /early warning messages
particularly in developing countries.
