BILINGUAL EDUCATION

• Enlist the help of the ESOL specialist in your
  school for resources.
• Use different ways of giving directions
  written, verbal, draw pictures on the board, or
  act out to some degree.
• Do not embarrass the student. Try to offer help
  on a individual basis, when possible.
• Try to learn about the students language and
  culture.

• Make sure you do not have personal biases.
• Create diverse groups for activities.
• Choose literature about different races and
  discuss the issues.

Assessing DIVERSITY IN students

• Take the time to get to know your students.
• Use various evaluation tools with students.
• Use free writing and group discussion to gauge
  levels of diversity.
