Business Resource Efficiency Waste Fund

• 284m three year fund 2005/08.
• Envirowise,WRAP, EA, Defra Market Transformation
  Prog, Carbon Trust, NISP, DTI Technology Fund and
  RDAs
• RDAs 5m pa for 3 years divided equally ( 555k
  each), further 5m pa in year 23,
• RDA to co-ordinate activity in region and carry
  out strategic projects
• Business only not local authorities
• Support for SMEs disproportionately affected by
  increase in landfill tax.

• Pilot procurement initiatives in public and
  private sector eg Construction
• Encourage collaborative SME Recycling schemes via
  SBPs other sub regional partners
• Organise Waste Summit and commission material
  specific/resource efficiency market research
• Initiate a NISP programme for the South East
• Develop regional waste networks eg Community/WEEE
• Maintain support of regional demonstrator
