• Name Technical Study Advisory Group
• Objectives
• To advise TTC for its activities directions and
  work efficiency by conducting studies and
  analyses of the world movements in
  telecommunications standardization, which lead to
  the improvement of TTCs attractiveness as well
  as member fee effectiveness.
• (2) To enhance its analysis results with
  improvement in quality, while improving in
  activity efficiency of the group.

• Succession to the activities of WG-1 of Strategic
  Research and Planning Committee.
• Publication of the first version report both in
  Japanese and in English in 1995. Version 9
  publication in this year.
• Investigation consignment work at the beginning
  from MPT (the Ministry of Posts and
  Telecommunications)
• Starting Web publication from FY 2000 both in
  Japanese and in English. Updates twice a year
  since FY 2002.

• Controlled by an industry leader's intention
• Groping for a new business model by combining
  forums in different fields
• Mobile Wireless Telecommunication Forum
• The number of forums in the field of Information
  Technology and Service is increasing but that in
  Infrastructure is about to decrease.
• Not active in Japan. Attributed to the strong
  leadership of carriers in developing services.
