BACK-TO-SCHOOL CLOTHING HUNT
(Infant Through Teen/Youth Sizes)

Saturday August 29 9am-1pm Your donations of
new or gently used clothing (infant sizes through
high-school/teen sizes) will be accepted now
through Friday August 28. Please place them in
the box provided in the narthex or bring them
directly to Christas office. Please make sure
all garments have been washed. Please do not
bring undergarments or socks unless they are new
and in the package. If youre interested in
helping please contact me at Christa.Helms_at_beulah
umc.org or call the church office. We need lots
of volunteers for this event to be successful! Be
sure to tell your family friends and neighbors

TEAM Please join us at Heiths Ice Cream on
Friday August 21 from 5-9pm. Heiths is located
at 10120 Chester Road (the corner of Centralia
and Chester Roads). 20 of the profits will be
donated to Beulahs Red Bird Missionary Team. All
you have to do is tell the cashier youd like
your purchase to support Beulah UMC. Be sure to
invite all of your family friends and
neighbors too. The more folks who mention Beulah
to the cashier the higher our profits soar! If
youve never been to Heiths youre in for a
real treat! Hope to see you there. USHERS NEEDED
FOR 830 We are looking for a few volunteers
men and women to be ushers at the 830 service.
This opportunity requires your participation only
one month per quarter. Please contact David

join in. NURSERY VOLUNTEER NEEDED We need
someone to help cover the nursery for the 600pm
time frame on Sunday evening September 27 and
November 8. If you are willing to volunteer to

fellowship and education at Bon Air UMC on

WEST IN THE FALL... On Friday October 16 the
district bus will travel to Community Outreach of
Roanoke Ferrum College and Henry Fork Community
Center. The one-day trip is scheduled for 730
am-800 pm and the cost is 64.25 per person. A
deposit of 35 is due August 28 but financial

parking lot every Saturday to take the Good News

of you who have your Sunday meal at Kings Korner
collect a ticket from them which you will then
turn in at the church office. Once a month these
tickets will be redeemed for a contribution from
Kings Korner. We have submitted and received a
check from Kings Korner for the tickets turned in

MINISTRY AT LUCY CORR Due to recent
budget cuts the activity directors at Lucy Corr
are severely handicapped in their efforts to
provide game prizes. If anyone would like to
donate prizes please drop these prizes in the
box labeled GAME PRIZES for Lucy Corr in the
education hallway. Please no travel size
products. (items that they like are full size
Kleenex (cube box) toothpaste deodorant
mouthwash toothbrush necklaces that fit over

2009 Come and join CCHASM at ChesterFest as it
hosts the TER-FOOD-DIN (Chester to Chesdin for
Food). There are three mapped cycling routes.

A MISSIONARY MOMENT.... From the notes of a
Methodist missionary to Africa in 1832. He had
been asked why he wanted to serve in such a
difficult environment as he was. He
replied Some want to live within the Sound of
church or chapel bell I just want to run a
rescue shop Within a yard of Hell. CHESTERFIELD
OFFICE OF ADULT EDUCATION ESOL The Adult
English for Speakers of Other Languages will be
meeting at BUMC again this year. We will be
welcoming them again when their registration
begins August 31 September 2 and classes will
meet on Mondays and Wednesdays September 9
December 16. We need volunteers to provide
refreshments once a week. If you would like to
join in please call the office or sign up on the
list on the bulletin board. If you feel that you
cannot provide refreshments but would like to
donate money to be used to help purchase items
please mark your donation ESOL and place it in
the offering plate or bring it to the office.
This group has always been appreciative of all
that the church has done for them. UMW PRAYER
LUNCH/WORLD THANK OFFERING SERVICE The Beulah
UMW is inviting all ladies to this years Prayer
Lunch and World Thank Offering service to be held
in the Fellowship Hall Saturday September 19
from 1100am to 100pm. Our guest speaker will
be Carole Morris who has made many trips to Haiti
with The Haiti Mission. We will all be so blessed
to hear of her experiences and how we too can be
of service. Reservations are not necessary but
would be appreciated. Please call your small
