About the USCG

• The United States Coast Guard (USCG) is a United
  States military branch of the Homeland Security
  involved in maritime law, mariner assistance, and
  search and rescue, among many other duties of
  coast guards.

Origin of Agency

• January 25 1915, the act to create the coast
  guard was signed by President Woodrow Wilson
• It combined the USLSS RCS

• 23 Commandant on May 25th, 2006
• considered The Face of the Coast Guard.

Size of Agency

• Operates approximately 210 aircraft from 24 Coast
  Guard Air Stations in the United States

• The United States Coast Guard has about 40,150
  men and women on active duty.

• Coming out of boot camp, you get about 16,000 a
  year.
• Coast Guard Reservists receive the same pay that
  other military members receive with the same pay
  grade and status.
