13ICZM Progress main results (1)
- First results confirm that questionaire is a
legitimised exercise - Conducted workshop used as a mechanism to
transfer knowledge on ICZM? highly recommended.
Linking ICZM with national planning system - Use of Dont know really useful
- Most participants feel that 3 levels (Yes, No,
Dont Know) not enough? They recommend to
introduce a scale of 4 levels (started, advanced,
completed and DK) - Useful for National reports building a baseline
in 2005
Expert Group Meeting, Brussels, 1st June 2006
14ICZM Progress main results (2)
- General trend of progress in all countries
- Results are linked with territorial organization
of countries (more centralised, more federative)
each country prioritize a number of actions - More ICZM actions done at national, regional or
local level depending on authority distribution. - Some actions are unclear, difficult to
understand? alternative writing to be done in
2007
Expert Group Meeting, Brussels, 1st June 2006
15ICZM Progress main results (2)
- Many comments ask review of Phase 4 which should
be organized around 5 main actions - Integration of the administration body and clear
ICZM procedure in place - Integration of information, GIS and indicators
- Good system of participation and governance (what
is it?) - Stable system of ICZM financing
- Follow up system in place TO MEASURE the
sustainability of the coast (SD) ? bridging both
sets - (2007)
