1. The set of general-purpose requirements for
UMTS terminals needs extending 2. The resulting
set of requirements can be splitted into three
classes of features - Features related to the
use of IC cards - Features related to
applications - Features related to mobility

• It permits to exploit the computational power
  and the memory of SIM cards
• SIM cards can start actions that will be
