9Focusing of Goals
-
- develop student learning goals in the first round
of assessment and program goals in the next stage
because..assessment is dynamic process where
various stages will inform the next step
10Mission Statement Process
- reviewed Colleges Statement of Purpose for key
concepts pertinent to curriculum and the public - key words and phrases were service, broaden
and enrich, participate as scholars, and make
educational and cultural resources available to
those from outside the institution. -
- reviewed mission statements of apples and
oranges Oberlin, Yale, Harn, DePauw, Cleveland,
Rose, Fowler, etc. - began with extant mission where it was hard to
recognize that the COWAM was part of a larger
entity
