  • Lets look at some animals found at Two Rivers
    Wildlife Park!

How does my fur feel?
  • If you felt this donkeys fur how do you
    think it would feel?


Would the fur feel fuzzy or smooth? Soft or
prickly?

What do Fish Feel like?
Have you ever felt a fish?
If you felt a fish what would you feel?

Dont Pat the Porcupine!
A porcupine is really prickly! It can have as
many as 30,000 prickly quills
  • Why do you think porcupines feel
  • so prickly? Do the quills keep the porcupine
    safe?

Silly Goose Sounds!
  • Listen to the sounds that geese make

Why do you think geese make honking sounds?

Busy Beaver Sounds!
  • Listen to the sounds a beaver makes.

What is the beaver doing while making these
sounds?

Whooooos There?
  • Listen to the sounds an owl makes

Who has heard an owl Hoot?

Hear the Howl!
  • Listen to the sounds coyotes make.

Coyotes howl to keep track of one another and
find other packs that get lost. Can you howl like
a coyote?

Eagle Eyes!
  • An eagle has very good eyesight for seeing
    fish in the water.

A person with good eyesight is sometimes called
eagle eyes.

Pretty as a Peacock!
  • Sometimes animals are colourful for a
    reason.
  • This peacock has bright feathers to attract a
    female peacock.

Can you think of other very colourful animals?

Changing Colour!
  • Some animals change colour so they wont be
    seen.

In the winter, arctic fox turn from grey to white
to blend in with the snow.

Otters in the Water!
  • Otters have eyes high on their head to see
    while swimming just below the water surface.

Can you see underwater?

They can find food, sense danger and find other

Smelly Skunks!
  • Skunks will spray a smelly substance to protect
    themselves.

The skunks at Two Rivers have had their scent
glands removed to they wont spray you!
