Pictures add a lot
  • Here is one of my students projects from this
    semester.
  • We used my digital camera to take the pictures.

4
Advantages of Using Photos
  • Many students feel self conscious about their
    drawing abilities
  • Pictures are more colorful
  • Pictures are more accurate
  • You can take pictures of multiple views to help
reader get a better understanding of how to
    assemble the Lego kit

5
Obstacles to Using Photos
  • Many students do not have experience working with
    digital photos
  • Some have experience with only one specific
    software package
  • Many have limited access to computers outside of
    class.
  • So it has to be easily learned and quick to do!

6
My suggestions
  • Save all pictures as .jpeg, because it seems to
be the easiest format to work with

7
Use a simple program
  • Try Paint
  • You can find it under Accessories, on the list of
    programs from the start bar
  • Paint is great for beginners, because it has a
much simpler look, fairly easy to use tools, and
    does a pretty good job
