Daily Read Process
  • Collect a reading for the start / end of each gas
    day (600)
  • Carry out initial tolerance validation on
    readings received.
  • Deliver reading to UK-Link (Xoserve)
  • UK-Link validates and delivers DM readings prior
    to 11am each day via the IX.
  • Sweep up files are provided for readings
    collected after the deadline and these are loaded
    into UK-Link.
  • Where readings arent collected estimates are
    provided by UK-Link based on D-7 consumption.
  • DM readings/ consumptions are then collected
    every 4 hours during the gas day

Daily Read file - Xoserve Deliver 6am readings
by 830am for onward deliver to shippers by 11am
(Liable Process) Deliver daily sweep up files of
late readings by 4.30pm
Unique Site File - Xoserve Deliver 6am readings
for Unique Sites by 10am
  • Demand Forecasting - Xoserve
  • Deliver DM, Unique and NDM firm readings,
    validated by specified routines on D14 following
    collection
  • Biannually increase delivery to meet issued
    schedule
  • National Grid Ops Trading
  • Deliver DM Firm / Interruptible consumption data,
    separately, every 4 hours, within 1 hour after
    collection
  • Deliver 7am DM Firm/ Interruptible consumption
    data, separately at 8am
  • Deliver DM Firm/ Interruptible consumption data,
    separately, for the previous 24 hours by 10am
    each day

Unique Site Readings to Gas Shippers Deliver 6am
reading, by fax, to gas shippers prior to 11am
(Liable Process)
Bulletin Board Service Provider Gas Shippers with
a facility to access hourly data at four hourly
intervals of each gas day

DM Annual Check Read
  • Arrange a DM Check Read / Site visit every 12
    months
  • Validates the accuracy of the datalogger
  • Input the Check Read / Resync site visit on
    UK-Link
  • Instigates DM Reconciliation
  • Each resync investigated to account for drift.
    Drift then manually input on to UK-Link
  • UK-Link pro-rates drift across reconciliation
    period

Daily Read Errors
  • Gas Volume is determined as recorded incorrectly
    by the Datalogging Equipment.
  • Up to D5 the Shipper can request the consumption
    is adjusted.
  • Queries are also identified by Operations and
    Trading and the DM Team refer these to the
    shipper for investigation and agreement of a
    consumption adjustment.

Daily Read Charges
  • Daily Meter Reading Charge
  • Charge for the collection / delivery of Daily
    meter Readings to gas shippers
  • Datalogger Rental Charge
  • Rental charge covering the maintenance of the
    datalogger
  • Daily charges specified in the National Grid
    Metering Charges Document
  • Invoiced created monthly of relevant charges for
    each shipper by Network.
  • Passed to Xoserve for issue to Gas Shippers

DM Liabilities
  • Deliver 97.5 of readings to Gas Shippers on a
    monthly basis. Readings must be delivered by 11am
    on D1of each Gas day during the month.
  • Where readings are not delivered for 4
    consecutive days, on the following day and every
    subsequant day pay a liability
  • NGM monitor and calculate the DM read performance
    for these standards and provide to Xoserve on a
    monthly basis.
