in the civil war she volunteered . As a nurse in
the civil war. She founder the Red Cross in the
US. Know as The Angel Of the Battlefield By

Jefferson Davis
BORN June 3, 1809 in Kentucky DIED December 6,
1889, in New Orleans INTRESTING FACTS When he
was a child he moved to Wilkson County,
Mississippi with his family. He received an
appointment to West Point , graduated in 1828. In
1832 he served in the Black Hawk War! In 1844 he
was elected to the U.S. House of representatives.
Jefferson eloped Sarah Knox Taylor, but she died
a couple months later by yellow fever or Malaria.
He then married Varina Howell in 1845. In
November 1861 the provisional government of the
C.S. made him President of the Confederacy. After
the war, Davis was capture at Irwinville,
Georgia, by Federal troops and imprisoned at
Fortress Monroe ROLE IN THE CIVIL WAR He was
the president for the confederate States of

Fredrick Douglas He was
born in February 1817. And he died in the year of
1895. Some interesting facts are that he wrote
many accounts of his free life and slave life, he
escaped and made his way to the north and, he was
born a slave. His role in the civil war was he
helped Lincoln make the war on slavery.

1850,when the Fugitive slave act,2 years later

abolitionist.. She was well known for her 2nd
best selling book, Uncle Toms Cabin.

He married Mary Todd, and together they had four
children, but only one lived to adulthood. In
1847 he ran for house of representatives and won.
He ran for president in 1855 and 1858 and lost.
In 1860 he won the presidential election. He was
the 16th president of the U.S What was his role
in the civil war He was the president of the
union and wrote the emancipation proclamation in

Harriet Tubman was an escape slave who led over
300 slaves to freedom between 1850 and 1860. And
she helped John Brown on Harpers Ferry. She
worked as a union nurse and a spy. She died
