    professional behaviours in medical practice.
  • Doctor-patient relationship is essential in the
    delivery of high quality medical care.
  • Many medical faculties have implemented
    curricular changes to teach communication skills,
    professional values, humanistic attitudes and
    behaviours to medical students.

  • Aim of this study is to evaluate the achievement
    of the students attitudes in an early phase of
    medical education about Doctor-Patient
    Relationship

Method
  • A questionnaire was given on the first and the
    last day of sessions for evaluation.
  • The questionnaire was composed of 7 statements.
  • A 5-point Likert scale was used for evaluation

Results
  • 294 students took the course
  • 172 of them (58,5) completed both
  • questionnaire.
  • The results were evaluated using Wilcoxon tests.
  • Positive change was found in attitudes for all 7
    statements (plt0.01).

Conclusion
  • It is an important outcome for year I students to
    achieve such professional attitudes in the early
    phase of their medical education.
  • These attitudual change will affect the quality
    in clerkships and eventually enhance the quality
    of medical practice.
  • The students would feel more prepared for medical
    identity.

Conclusion
  • Such modules will serve as a base for vertical
    integration for later years in medical education
    and prepare the students for further courses.
  • Similar modules should be implemented in later
    years to emphasize the importance.
  • Such modules will enhance the quality of health
    care.
