REVELATIONThe Seven Seals
  • By Patrick Evans

2
"This is the revelation given by God to Jesus
Christ so that he could tell his servants about
the things which are very soon to take place ..."
Revelations 11

Background
  • The Book of Revelation was written by the prophet
    John.
  • It is considered to be the most mysterious book
    of the New Testament.
  • It is riddled with patterns of SEVENs.
  • The seven seals portray what God considers to be
the greatest events within that era leading from
Christ's momentous and shattering appearance in
Galilee to the day of Armageddon and the dawn of
    the final judgment.
  • The events of the first four seals breaking are
caused by Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse.

4
Background continued.
  • Seven times God's word is set into motion with
the breaking of the seals. Given full power of
judgment, each time the Lamb of God breaks a
particular seal, one of the four animals (one of
the four Gospels) calls into action the events
    which lay hidden behind it.
  • God has given these four Gospels the power of all
judgment on earth, so they rule here with an iron
fist, pushing into motion through God's sentinels
all the effects dictated by the causes they
    condemn.
  • The words of the Book of Revelation shows that
the breaking of these seals are fundamentally
tied to the Gospel of Christ which is portrayed
in the book as four animals which surround the
    royal throne of heaven.

5
The First Seal..
  • Revelation 61
  • When the first seal is broken, Jesus Chris is
said to be sent by the Word.
  • He is able to make His appearance to men and ride
    on His white steed, Integrity.
  • With His arm in full swing, he bears a sword, not
peace, and brings forth a path of righteousness.

6
The Second Seal..
  • Revelation 63
  • When the second seal is broken, the Gospel calls
forth a red horse, with a rider wielding a large
    sword.
  • This sword takes away peace.
  • As the rider crosses the planet on his red horse,
he leaves war and violence in his wake.

7
The Third Seal..
  • Revelation 65
  • When the third seal is broken, the black horse of
    commerce appears.
  • Toil, labor, and greed consume those in the path
    of the black horse.
  • The black horse and red horse battle for
supremacy, setting the stage for the fourth
    horseman.

8
The Fourth Seal..
  • Revelation 67
  • When the fourth seal is broken, a deathly pale
horse carried the rider, Plague, followed by
    Hades.
  • A fourth of the Earth is destroyed by Plague and
    Hades through famine and disease.
  • This is only the beginning of what Plague and
    Hades do to the Earth.

9
The Fifth Seal..
  • Revelation 69
  • When the fifth seal is broken, John saw
underneath the alter the souls of all those
killed by witnessing the Word of God.
  • The angel told John all the bad things were
happening as judgment and patience was needed for
God to carry out his ultimate secret plan.

10
The Sixth Seal..
  • Revelation 612
  • When the sixth seal is broken, there will be a
violent earthquake, the sun will go black, the
moon red, and the stars will fall from the sky.
  • The sky will disappear and mountains and islands
will be shaken from their place.
  • The population will taken to the mountains to
hide in caves, for this is the coming of the Day
of Anger of God and the Lamb.

11
The Seventh Seal..
  • Revelation 81
  • When the seventh seal is broken, there will be a
    short silence in Heaven.
  • There will be no silence on Earth due to the rise
    of the Beast.
  • To show Gods knowledge of this rise, an angel
appears to carry the prayers of the Beasts
    victims back to Heaven.
  • After collecting the prayers, the angel hurls a
great fire to Earth, causing earthquakes,
    thunder, and lightning.
