Purpose
NSTAR
  • Centralize data collection for budgeting and
    reporting
  • Unify and automate the State and Local budget
    processes
  • Stay ahead of the curve ABOR has mandated that
    the three state universities move toward a common
    financial reporting system.

    technology

Getting Started
  • Logon
  • Navigate to the NAU Production Server
  • http//pinon.ucc.nau.edu/osoft/
  • Use your NAU user ID and password

Launch the System
  • From the Launch Page click BPC for Excel

AppSets
  • The AppSet is the environment in which you will
    perform your work.
  • You will be working in NAU_PROD
  • When we Go Live on May 8th the entire campus
    community will operate in Production and this
    will become a default setting.

  • This setting determines what classification of
    data you will be accessing and updating
  • Finance
  • Human Resources
  • Planning (UBO only)

  • Your NAU user ID is the driving force
  • Parameters are set based on what you need

  • You can run a report for any cabinet or account,
    but you will only be able to enter data for your
    own area

  • Use the drop down menu to choose NAU_PROD.

  • Use the drop down menu to choose FINANCE.

After you have set the criteria click OK

  • Your focus will mainly be on the toolbar

This is a secondary navigation tool
Disregard minimize your Action Pane and this
will disappear.

    need to run NSTAR?

    Explorer Version 6.0 and Microsoft with Excel
    2000.
  • Q Who needs access?
  • A Any individuals that have historically been
    involved in the preparation of the State or Local
    budgets.
  • Q How do I get access?
  • A Email your JFR for authorization and sign up
    for a training session.
  • Q Does NSTAR replace Business Objects?
  • A No, the two systems serve very different
    needs.
  • Q Can I enter budget values at the department,
    branch or cabinet level?
  • A No. You must enter budgets at the base level
    member that is the individual account.
  • Q Can I save my schedule or report?
  • A Yes, simply save it to your local machine
