A Eye For An Eye

• The Law stated an eye for an eye
  Ex 2124-25, Lev 2410-23, Deut 1921
• These were laws for the civil courts to apply
  Ex 2122
• If men fight, and hurt a woman with child, so
  that she gives birth prematurely, yet no harm
  follows, he shall surely be punished accordingly
  as the woman's husband imposes on him and he
  shall pay as the judges determine.

• Vengeance is Mine, and recompense Their foot
  shall slip in due time For the day of their
  calamity is at hand, And the things to come
  hasten upon them. For the LORD will judge His
  people And have compassion on His servants, When
  He sees that their power is gone, And there is no
  one remaining, bond or free.

• Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather
  give place to wrath for it is written,
  Vengeance is Mine, I will repay, says the Lord.

• Let every soul be subject to the governing
  authorities. For there is no authority except
  from God, and the authorities that exist are
  appointed by God. Therefore whoever resists the
  authority resists the ordinance of God, and those
  who resist will bring judgment on themselves.
