Title: When a user selects clicks an item from the toolbar, the mouse cursor changes accordingly' The mouse

1
  • When a user selects (clicks) an item from the
toolbar, the mouse cursor changes accordingly.
The mouse icon is how a user knows which tool is
selected. The item selected is also depressed on
the toolbar, as the eraser is here.
  • Let's go over each tool from the upper left of
    the toolbar
  • The Marquee Tool With this tool, you can select
an area on the image. In the case of the example,
you can draw a box on the image. Inside that
    image will be selected.
  • There are 5 different versions of this tool. The
square selection tool, the circle selection tool,
the horizontal and vertical line selection tools,
and the crop tool. To access a different
selection tool, hold the mouse button while
clicking on the item in the toolbar. A submenu
will appear and another tool can be selected, as
    the example demonstrates

2
  • Once you have the area selected, it is time to
crop the image. Either double click inside the
box, or go to the image menu, and select crop.
Everything outside of the image is gone.

  • Any tool with a small arrow has more tools. To
access the hidden tools, just hold down the mouse
button when selecting the tool and a similar menu
    will appear.
  • The crop tool is one of the hidden tools under
the selection area tool. With the crop tool you
draw a box around the area of the image you wish
to crop. Once the box has been drawn, you can
adjust the size of the box.
