What is Action Verbs

• A verb states something about subject of the
  sentence and express actions events state of
  being.
• Action verbs describes an act or activity.
• Ex. Play run drop
• The actions may be physical or mental.

About Action Verbs

• Action verbs can be actions that you cant see.
• Ex. She thought about her puppy.
• Action verbs are time telling verbs.
• Ex. My dog runs faster than yours. (present)
• Yesterday he ran around the block. (past)
• Tomorrow he will run in a race. (future)
• Action verbs can be alone in a sentence as a main
  verb.
• Ex. My kitten fell into the pond.

(Present) Playing Add ing at the end of action
verb (Past) Played Add ed at the end of action
verb (future) will play Add will before the
action verb (Present perfect) Have/Has played Add
had/has before the action verb and a past
participle form follow after ( Ex.
Do---Did---Done) (Past perfect) Had Play Add had
before the action verb and a base form follow
