How to visit with your counselor
  • Stop by the tower office before school, after
    school, or in between classes and complete a
    request to see your counselor.
  • It only takes a few seconds!
  • We will send for you at our earliest time
    possible.

PSAT
  • Wednesday, Oct 14th
  • Practice test for SAT. Use the feedback score to
    prepare for SAT.
  • Test that qualifies students for National Merit
    Scholar- What an honor!
  • Timed Test.
  • Bring your own calculator.
  • Results will be here in Dec/Jan

When should I take ACT or SAT college entrance
exams?
  • Sophomores and Juniors should take PSAT and use
    those results to prepare for SAT.
  • Juniors should test during the Spring semester of
    their junior year. This gives you time to retest
    if your scores are not what you need.
  • CWHS will be offering after school prep classes
    in the Spring semester for Juniors.

Fee Waivers for SAT and ACT
  • You must be on the CWHS free or reduced lunch
    list.
  • See Mr Musick for a fee waiver. His office in
    the back of R D.

Community Service
  • Important component
  • Become a Spring DSG. Must complete and document
    30 hours of community service each school year
    through grades 9-12.
  • Download forms at www.springisd.org, click on
    departments for DSG Program information or pick
    up forms in Mr. Musicks office.

Top 10- What can that do for me?
  • If you are ranked in the top 10 of your class,
    you are eligible for automatic admission to any
    public university in Texas.
  • Automatic admission does not guarantee that you
    will be admitted to your choice of majors.

Graduation Requirements
  • 4 x 4- ELA, Math, Science, Soc. St.
  • PE (1.5, 2 credit CTE waives PE)
  • Health (.5)
  • Technology application (1, Can be earned through
    3 credit hours of CTE coherent sequence of
    courses
  • Communication Applications (.5)
  • Languages other than English (2)
  • Fine Art (1)
  • Pass all portions of Exit level TAKS

Promotion Credits
  • Junior-13 state credits
  • Senior-19 state credits
  • Stay on track in order to continue in your CTE
    program. You need a CTE class in order to stay
    at CWHS.
  • Summer School
  • June- Fall semester (.5 credit)
  • July- Spring semester (.5 credit)

  • Yes, Dec 1- Jan 15th For next school year
  • Get form in tower office
  • Issues Start back in entry level class, PE
    waiver and Tech App waiver may not be completed,
    may impact level of internship

  • All As and one B.
  • T-shirt if make honor roll.

Academic Letter Jacket andNational Honor Society
  • 4.2 cumulative GPA at end of 10th grade year or
    11th grade year.
  • National Honor Society- May qualify spring
    semester of your junior year. You must be an
    active member of a club and have community
    service hours. Teacher ratings based on
    character and leadership.

  • No unexcused absences
  • No more than 2 excused absences
  • No EC, Highpoint, or suspension
  • No fines, including textbooks, library
  • No AP consequence for tardies
  • Must pass prior TAKS in subject area of exemption
  • Conduct E or S
